had chance to visit my former dance company and shoot their dress run before their gala tonight. Dance photography will always be my favorite subject. just realized how much i miss shooting it. this photo is a "must when shooting Don Quixote ballet. i was visualizing this when i got the green light to shoot. lucky that i was able to capture a moment. the dancer you see here in Candice Adea, a principal in the company and a silver medalist in 2010 Int'l Ballet Competion so called the olympics of ballet.

One of the "rules" in shooting people was leaving too much space above the head. But i can't resist including that creamy bokeh. Learn the rules, then break them. =)

Was watching a documentary on History Channel about the Vietnam war and I was inspired on how they lit the interviewees. So, I thought of "interviewing" me. One of the interviewees was actually wearing a pair vintage sunglasses.

Main light was coming from a diffused sunlight from our balcony. a 40x40cm softbox with 1/2 CTO gelled LP 120 camera left for separation. a 2nd LP 120 bare camera left bounced up the ceiling to add a tad more light for the BG.

Lighting firecrackers on the lunar new year is said to scare away evil spirits. These tradition can take up to a few days after the new year. The firecrackers lighting area is near our place here in Macau and our dog has been restless for a few days now.
